Money change

In He Puna Kawenga, this term we are learning about money. One of the activities that Miss Nation wanted us to do was to figure out how we could spend $20 at New World supermarket. By choosing what we wanted to buy, we then had to use our adding to make sure we didn't spend more than $20.

Next was spending $30 at the Warehouse by using their online catalogue to see what costumes we could get for that price. I found it difficult because most of the costumes were too dear.

Here is my google drawing about what i found.

Keep NZ clean

He Puna Kawenga was getting ready to clean up the area around school. First we had to put on a glove to protect our hands so we don't get sick from the rubbish. Then we lined up in two lines and walked down London street until we came to Fitzherbert Avenue. When we got there we found a lot of rubbish and plastic. We had two people holding the rubbish bags and we had lots of people going everywhere. We found cigarettes butts, paper, plastic and glass. After we finished that we bring the bags back when I came back I felt proud of what I have done.

poster

In He Puna Kawenga we have been talking about what you need when you go on a voyaging experience.

To begin with it's important to choose the right group on the voyaging experience. Like a group that won't get sick easily, that is kind and has good ideas and most of all helpful.

Then we wrote what your group would need to take while voyaging across the pacific. You need food to trade when you get to the islands, extra rope and sail just in case you lose one of your sails, and lastly birds that are able to find land.

As a class activity we worked in pairs to make a voyage poster that showed people what it will be like,  Maddie and I did a draft copy then when we were happy we did a good copy.
Here is my poster.

It has covers they are dark grey and light blue. In the right hand comer is a little tent with pillows, a fluffy mat and on the tent there are stars.
